Kiara Laher
I am a trainee teacher in West Yorkshire, one of the older ones on the course – surrounded by trainees in their early twenties, which has been rather disconcerting at times. Originally from South London, I moved to Yorkshire in 2014 in search of the quiet life. The daughter of a completely dedicated but overworked head of English, I decided early on that I would do anything but teach. However, like many other children of teachers, I embraced my fate and delved into the world of teaching in September 2017.
Here, I will document my journey into teaching and offer what little advice I can to others considering embarking on this most rewarding of professions.
